Cristo seen from the Escola Nacional Botânica
I shot this photo on my camera phone from the veranda of the Jardim Botânico’s research and study institute at the very top of Rua Pacheco Leão, above the Jardim itself. I think you can see why the bloco (the informal club or group who organize and participate in a street parade for Carnaval, very neighborhood-based) for the Jardim Botânico neighborhood calls itself “The Armpit of Christ”! 
What’s so great about Corcovado and the Cristo is how you can get glimpses and vistas at odd moments and places wherever you go in Zona Sul and the central parts of metro Rio.
Tirei nesta foto com o celular na varanda da escola do Jardim Botânico, que fica acima da Rua Pacheco Leão, sobre o Jardim mesmo. É claro por que o bloco do bairro do Jardim Botânico se chama “O Suvaco do Cristo!”
A coisa légal do Corcovado e o Cristo para mim é que pode pegar olhos e vistas maiores no qualquer lugar o tempo no Zona Sul e meio do Rio proprio.
