A day for remembering the fallen

This post is hard to write—this is the third version.

A day of loss, of sorrow. Thinking of children now half-grown who only know it as a history lesson. Young men and women who were children then, now overseas risking their lives for us. Remembering the horrifying, beyond surreal web-films of the events, streaming from the news channel sites that day. The days afterward with no airplanes in the sky—how odd to have internet and modern communications, but to be grounded physically.

So glad to be home today, in my own country again.
