Spent Friday going to a medical appointment, then hiking with our new neighbor. Saturday, day seven, I popped open a photo of a protea flower that I picked up at the grocery store Thanksgiving week, and layered oil pastels and indigo and a darkish pink-red colored pencil over initial watercolor washes. I have to say the Fabriano Tiziano paper is really not appealing to me, but I’m not ready to give up on it quite yet.

Sunday afternoon, I logged in not quite 3/4 of an hour playing around with the cross-sections of some baby bok choy. Unfortunately, when I returned to it after dinner, the bok choy had wilted. I had taken some pictures though, so spent half an hour adding some details. Some days it’s just about showing up.

On Sunday, I ordered a bag of veg and some farm eggs from a local CSA service. Quite looking forward to drawing some quick produce portraits later this week!
